Survey and Consultation
Every installation starts with a complimentary home survey, giving us the opportunity to understand what you would like to achieve and assess the best way to make it happen.
Whether you already have a suitable fireplace, want to open up and transform an existing chimney breast, or have no chimney at all, we can look after the project from beginning to end.
Our experience covers everything from opening up and renovating fireplaces, preparing chambers and installing hearths, through to chimney lining and complete twin-wall flue systems for properties without a suitable chimney.
During the survey, we’ll assess your property, discuss stove and fireplace options, take the necessary measurements and talk you through the different ways the installation could be approached. This allows us to provide a clear quotation based on the complete job, rather than leaving you to arrange different parts of the work separately.
There’s no hard sell and no obligation — just practical advice to help you decide what works best for your home.
Installation
When you’re happy with your quotation, we’ll arrange an installation date and take care of everything needed to bring your new fireplace together.
Every home is different, so our installations range from fitting a new stove into an existing fireplace and chimney, through to complete fireplace transformations. We install flexible flue liners and twinwall flue systems, and can also carry out the associated work including opening up and preparing fireplaces, installing hearths, chambers and beams, and creating false chimney breasts where required.
We can supply and install your chosen stove, or help you select the right appliance for your home as part of the process.
On installation day, we’ll protect the surrounding area and work carefully to keep disruption to a minimum. Once everything is complete, we’ll commission the installation and take the time to show you how to use and look after your new stove safely.
Your installation will then be registered with HETAS and your Certificate of Compliance will follow.
And our involvement doesn’t have to end there. We can continue to look after your fireplace with chimney sweeping, servicing and ongoing maintenance for years to come.
Appliance servicing
Regular servicing helps keep your stove or fire working safely and efficiently, while also helping to prolong the life of the appliance.
Our appliance service is a thorough check and refresh, looking over the condition of the stove and its components for signs of wear, damage or deterioration. We inspect the fire bricks, door and glass seals, rope seals and other key components, replacing worn rope seals where required and identifying anything that may need further attention.
The appliance is cleaned internally, including the glass, and we re-spray the exterior where appropriate to refresh its appearance and leave your stove looking its best as well as ready for continued use.
Regular servicing can help identify smaller issues before they develop into more costly problems, maintain the condition of the appliance and keep your stove performing as it should for years to come.
Whether we installed your appliance or not, Flex Flues can provide the ongoing servicing, maintenance and repairs needed to keep it in good condition.
Chimney Sweeping
Regular chimney sweeping is an important part of keeping your fireplace, stove and flue system safe and working as it should.
Our professional chimney sweeping service removes soot, debris and deposits that can build up within the chimney or flue during use. We take care to protect the area around your appliance before carrying out the sweep, keeping disruption and mess to a minimum.
As part of the visit, we also visually check the condition of the appliance and accessible parts of the flue system, highlighting anything we feel may require further attention. Once complete, we carry out the appropriate checks before leaving your fireplace clean and ready to use.
We sweep chimneys and flue systems serving wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves, open fires and gas fires, whether the appliance was originally installed by Flex Flues or not.
